Things are ALWAYS
happening around St. PhilipÕs.
Here's just a sampling of some of what
you might have missed.
ÒJust up a
little moreÉno, too highÉ.no, up a little moreÉTHERE!Ó In our ivory tower, it
is difficult for the wireless to reach most of our buildings (at least the
parts where people will need laptops!). Our fearless Computer Systems Manager
Dave H and Buildings Committee Chairman Ernie S find the perfect spot –
on a ladder, then on a box sideways, then a Kleenex boxÉ. TheyÕll mark the spot
and mount it professionally.

It was a busy
day on Saturday! Outside, swarms of men and boys led by Christian R work on
refurbishing the playground. Christian has taken on this project as a
requirement for Eagle Scout. You may notice that the play doesnÕt look
particularly safe: please caution children (of all ages) that the playground
is CLOSED until
further notice!

In Godly Play classes on Sunday, the children take advantage of a work period
after hearing the story. ÒWorkÓ is a good Montessori term which describes the
way that the children are allowed to enter into the story in their own way.
Kathleen E uses the watercolors, and Chloe H and Ellie R go back to the Bible
to read the story first hand.

And, a shot
from the PhilippianPix corporate office: our newly adopted kitten Milo has
learned that chasing the ÒmouseÓ on my computer screen is a fun thing to do.
Any mistakes and editorial marks should be considered his fault from here on
outÉhe DOES make it a tad difficult to see the screen!

(For those of
you reading this outside of Transylvania County, the blinding white outside my
office window is the snow, not melting as quickly as in town!)
