Things are ALWAYS happening around St. PhilipÕs.
Here's
just a sampling of some of what you might have missed.
The DOK (Daughters of the King)
welcomed a special guest at this weekÕs meeting – Diocesan DOK president
Ellen Riley. Nothing would do but to line up for a photo op in the library!

We Episcopalians, as a
liturgical people, know that Christmas BEGINS on December 25 and the season of
Christmas lasts for twelve days (hence the popular songÉ). However, as retailers
(or would that be re-retailers?), we know that Christmas is big business! Many
of SantaÕs elves busily worked to create the Christmas Shop at The Shop of St.
PhilipÕs that opened yesterday. (Be sure to go check out the decorations for
sale!) Here Ellie, Karen, and Carol are waiting for Santa to arrive!

Both Godly Play classes learned
about the communion of saints last Sunday, and the new stories were a hit!
After the presentation of a Godly Play story, the children are allowed to
choose how they want to work with the stories. Many children use art materials,
but a new story is too hard to pass up! Elizabeth works with matching the flags
of the countries to the saints represented; Will looks up more information on
one of the saints.

Ellie sets out the manipulatives, Lauren reads aloud the story of St. Margaret
of Scotland, and Sam is happy to enjoy the presentation. (Ellie is fond of St.
Margaret, as they share a name.)
