Things are ALWAYS happening around St. PhilipÕs.
Here's just a sampling of some of what you might have missed.
Hang on to your hats – this oneÕs a doozy!
Sometimes itÕs either feast or famine around here with pictures.
Katharine Jefferts
Schori, the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church,
attended the Diocesan Convention of Western North Carolina. During her busy
time there, she had a special dinner for Diocesan Youth on November 14. Allison
and Christian enjoyed this special opportunity!

In preparation for the
Thanksgiving Feast, Joan gives a seminar on the mysterious use of the
dishwasher.

Then, ÒWizard of OzÓ night came
to Wonderful Wednesday in November. Beth took a few minutes off from making the
Emerald City Green cake to work on the Yellow Brick Road.

Will models the Cowardly LionÕs cape and crown.

Carol outdid herself with table decorations.

The balloon is almost ready to
depart with the WizardÉ

The Annual Wonderful
Wednesday/Advent Workshop took place December 3, 2008, in Miller Hall. In
preparation, the room had the following: a 9 foot tree
with only lights, and trays of tempting ÒrawÓ materialsÉ

And immediately busy hands set
to work. It was amazing to watch.

And behold! A beautiful Chrismon tree!

And, the evening concluded with the annual retelling of the ÒTraditions
of ChristmasÓ story, which reminds us of the meaning and truth of the symbols
of light, everlasting life, gifts, and peaceÉ.
