Things are ALWAYS happening around St. PhilipÕs.
Here's just a sampling of some of what you might have missed.
What a difference six days make!
On March 1, 2009, Maria was at Valle Crucis
Conference Center for a clergy retreat and snapped this photo:

Exactly six days later, on
March 7, 2009, five St. Philippian EYC members and
one adult were at Valle Crucis enjoying warm spring
weather – t-shirts and sandals weather! – at
the Diocesan Youth Spring Conference.

St. Philippians are faithful. Every single Tuesday morning – rain or
shine – Dan shows up to prepare the small communion kit. He and Ann
faithfully take communion to residents at The Oaks every week.

The parish calendar states that
there was a Òcomputer meeting,Ó but the group likes to refer to itself as ÒThe
Geek Squad.Ó Normally much of the website and digital communications work happens
in individual homes, but occasionally the Geeks relish the chance to work
through new ideas face to face – or maybe, side to side while looking at
the computer screen! Harry and Maria ponder ideas about the Parish Ministry
Council and how to display its function and ministries on screen. You can see a
preview (to be unveiled soon!) of the digital Minisphere
on JillÕs computer.

Successful
programs are 1% inspiration and 99% preparation! (My apologies to Thomas Alva
EdisonÉ) Early in the afternoon, Adele and Shawnee carefully tint icing for the
Lenten program for children and youth on Wednesday night.
