Things are ALWAYS happening around St. PhilipÕs.
Here's just a sampling of some of what you might have
missed.
From time to time
we have shown pictures of some of the treasures with which Maria decorates her
office. One memento is a pot overflowing with warm fuzziesÉ

At the recent MidBEGINNINGdle retreat (Beginning in the Middle) for
diocesan middle school youth, Maria wore a warm fuzzy stole during the
Eucharist! (A photo album of pictures from the retreat should be ready by next
weekÉ)

The PhilippianPix editor has been running willy
nilly doing all sorts of other St. Philippian tasks, so she has a backlog of photos from past
events. On the first day of school (August 25), Steve cooked a humdinger of a
breakfast for ALL schoolchildren and their families. He and his helpers (Beth and Jan) served a hot breakfast
continuously to the 48 children and adults from 6:30 – 8:00 a.m. HereÕs the early crowd first thing at 6:30 a.m.!

The place
quickly filled up as the morning progressed:

It was great to
have service with a smile so early in the morning! Hot eggs – yum!

Even at that
early hour, there were many smiling faces! HereÕs a fewÉ

The PhilippianPix continues to
chronicle the sprucing up of the parish office. After the window project was
completed, Jeanne and her minions moved everything around to create better flow
in the office. Here Ann, Steve, and Brian show of the new volunteer desk!

The old office
configuration resembled a maze at times. HereÕs the more streamlined
arrangement.

The St. PhilipÕs Dulcimer Choir has
resumed practice. Last Friday they stole into the quiet chapel for some
rehearsal time for their upcoming October 11th
contribution to the 9 a.m. service.
